How to protect modules from unexpected power loss
Experts explain how an innovative Quectel module feature can prevent data loss in case of abrupt power outages
Module shutdown can require some time to complete properly – and when a module shuts down abruptly, such as with sudden power loss, there is a chance of damaging the file system. To resolve this issue, Quectel has devised a feature which can reduce shutdown time to less than 100ms without damaging the file system.
This Masterclass is dedicated to explaining the benefits of this feature and how it can be applied in scenarios that might lead to abrupt outages. For example, when the module detects a falling motion, it will complete the current access and stop writing new data into the file system, and then switch off the power supply. In such instances, the relevant feature pin will be triggered, and the module will be powered off within 100ms, greatly mitigating the risk of data loss. Don’t miss this opportunity to understand how this feature could transform the potential of your IoT solution.
