Andromeda Interfaces selects Quectel EG25 for new Advanced Telematics Display Module
Andromeda Interfaces Inc has selected the Quectel EG25/EG25-GL module for its new Andromeda Advanced Telematics Display Module (ATDM). The ATDM marks a significant step forward in human-machine interfaces and telematics, delivering outstanding performance and dependability in a sleek design. The ATDM is crafted for seamless integration and customization across various remote applications that demand high-level data communication and enhanced display capabilities.
“Finding an automotive grade modem that can work globally and has a small footprint at an affordable cost is a significant challenge, but Quectel had multiple options for us and the EG25-GL has met those requirements,” says Kevin Coelho, the Co-Founder of Andromeda Interfaces Inc. “Quectel’s engineering and testing support has been great to help answer questions regarding FCC and UL requirements. We are using the EG25 in our Advanced Telematics Display Module (ATDM) which is combining an advanced human-machine interface (HMI) with the telematics to create a complete next generation system.”
Displays from Andromeda Interfaces are designed to transform raw data into captivating, easily accessible information that propels creativity and innovation. Since its inception in 2014 the company has focused on providing groundbreaking solutions that merge aesthetic elegance with robust functionality. In the transportation and industrial energy sectors, Andromeda Interfaces has delivered HMI development tools and sleek, ruggedized display instrumentation.
The Quectel EG25 was selected because of its compact form factor, downlink rates and operating temperature range. The IoT-optimized LTE Cat 4 module delivers maximum data rates of up to 150Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink. It has dimensions of 29.0mm x 32.0mm x 2.4mm and offers a standard operating temperature range of -35°C to +75°C. An extended temperature range variant is available covering temperatures of -40°C to +85°C. In addition, the EG25-GL offers optional GNSS for accurate and dependable positioning.
