Quectel works with Human Horizons, JOYNEXT and Qualcomm to drive the next generation of intelligent in-vehicle experiences in new HiPhi X sports utility vehicles

Shanghai – April 15, 2021 – Quectel Wireless Solutions Co., Ltd. announced a collaboration with Human Horizons (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd., Ningbo JOYNEXT Technology Corporation and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to support advanced vehicle connectivity innovations in 5G and cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) on the HiPhi X — Human Horizons’ first super sports utility vehicle (SUV) in mass production, which is scheduled to be delivered in May 2021.

The four organizations are working together to drive the next generation of advanced technologies in telematics and C-V2X communication. Utilizing Quectel’s automotive 5G+C-V2X module AG550Q and JOYNEXT's 5G-V2X On-board Unit (OBU) featuring the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Automotive 5G Platform, the HiPhi X supports a combination of advanced functions and features to achieve 5G-enabled in-vehicle experiences.

Quectel’s AG550Q module is designed to provide outstanding performance and support for automotive telematics devices. Its integrated C-V2X technology is designed to support HiPhi X’s ability to deliver 5G and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) services for various scenarios, including vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication standards. With the AG550Q’s support for concurrent multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS and Qualcomm® Dead Reckoning 3 technology, alongside RTK data offered by China’s leading service providers, HiPhi X vehicles are optimized to provide highly accurate location positioning with a comprehensive 3D navigation solution and enable Level 3 autonomous driving functionality.

“HiPhi is a new, innovative and disruptive brand created by Human Horizons. We are delighted to be working with leading technology and automotive companies like Quectel, JOYNEXT and Qualcomm Technologies that have an innovative spirit and deep technology heritage to achieve this milestone and open up a new era of automotive evolution,” commented Jun Chen, senior vice president of engineering and vehicle development, Human Horizons.

“With the strong influence of digitalization, the concept of intelligent connectivity brings incredible opportunities for the automotive industry.
