Quectel launches connectivity-as-a-service for Latin American markets at Futurecom 2022

Global IoT provider showcases 5G modules approved by Anatel and adds Connectivity-as-a-Service to its local and regional offer

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global IoT solutions provider, is continuing to build on the successful roll-out of its Connectivity-as-a-Service (CaaS) and is now launching global IoT connectivity sales in the Latin America region while at Futurecom 2022 in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The company is also showcasing the latest 5G modules, approved for use in the region by Brazilian telecoms agency Anatel, at the show.

Quectel’s connectivity service is present in more than 190 countries from more than 500 network operators (see the company’s interactive coverage map for more detail) and currently provides 2G, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT and Cat-M connections. The Quectel solution is available to the entire market and particularly benefits deployments that can accelerate time-to-market and optimize business efficiency by using a single vendor for module, antenna and connectivity

“Connectivity-as-a-Service facilitates our customers’ adoption of IoT solutions by having only one point of contact to develop their product and then launch it on the market already ensuring its best functioning,” explains Ricardo Simon, Director of Sales for Latin America at Quectel. “In addition, the service will ensure the best connection and cost-benefit for each customer,” adds the executive.

In addition to its global presence in modules and antennas, Quectel also has significant experience in connectivity, having developed its QuecConnectivity platform that manages more than 30 million SIMs in Asia. The CaaS offering can combine connectivity with modules and antennas, providing customers with a single-entry point to Quectel’s full portfolio of products and services.

The company has been in Brazil since 2018 and has participated in the 5G standard discussions and definitions in the country. With part of its local production in Manaus, Quectel enables significant market differentiation in terms of cost, development time, and benefits at the edge. With approximately 7,000 customers globally, Quectel serves companies in the payments, smart cities, agriculture and environmental monitoring, and health and safety sectors as well as other vertical sectors.
