Overview
The LC86L is an ultra-compact GNSS module measuring 16.0mm × 16.0mm × 6.95mm with 26 tracking channels and 11 acquisition channels. It is designed to be compatible with Quectel’s GPS L80 module to provide a flexible and scalable platform for migrating from GPS to GNSS.
The module has an integrated patch antenna and a high-performance GNSS chipset engine (AG3331 or MT3333) to support two GNSS constellations (either GPS + GLONASS or GPS + BeiDou). The LC86L combines advanced AGNSS (assisted GNSS), EASY™ (Embedded Assist System for self-generated orbit prediction), and LOCUS™ (internal logger) to achieve the highest performance.
EASY™ allows the module to calculate and predict orbits automatically using up to 3 days of ephemeris data stored in the RAM, so it can fix position quickly and with low power consumption, even when signal levels are lower. LOCUS™ allows the module to log position information to the internal flash memory at default intervals of 15 seconds, typically providing more log capacity without extra cost. The LC86L also supports automatic antenna switching, switching between internal patch antenna and external active antenna while maintaining positioning.
The LC86L’s combination of compact design, high precision and high sensitivity allow it to serve a broad range of IoT applications such as portable devices, automotive, personal tracking, security and industrial PDA. It is especially suitable for special applications like GNSS mouse receivers and on-board diagnostics.
